You might gather that I have a thing for lace. I’ve worn this dress several times for evening occasions, but I really wanted to try a day time look. I think these gorgeous blush lace-up flats really did the trick.
It’s funny because you will almost always see me wearing some sort of black. Black is a great way to structure and balance an outfit. So it’s interesting when I style pieces that are pretty much the opposite of black, and totally love it. I’m not very girly in my fashion, not big into pastels or too much pink, but this look is just romantic and sweet, and I can see myself wearing it to any day time event, or just around town on the weekends.
The dress needs to be paired with a slip, and I am actually really into it slipping out a little. It makes the lace so much more casual. The color is of course a favorite, and I think the three-quarter sleeves are very cool. I’m linking some favorite lace dresses for spring here and here.
Lace-up flats are a major trend right now, and literally everyone I know has a pair. So I didn’t want to get the exact same thing. Cue this adorable blush color. I’m really trying to include items that aren’t black in my rotation, and these are perfect, because they’re basically a neutral and I already see them pairing with so much in my wardrobe. I found similar options here (went on my wish list immediately) and here.
And I of course want to mention this stunning Zac Posen bag. You saw it in my last post, and you’ll see it in many more to come. The flower details are so beautiful and feature really pretty pearls. And the color is again me stepping out of my comfort of black. It’s such a great neutral though, and the size is perfect for grabbing a bite to eat or going out to dinner. Small bags are ket for those spring and summer nights. I’m gushing over this one and love how fun the color on this one is!
My mom is officially here and I’m so excited to spend the rest of the week with her! I’m taking Thursday and Friday off from the office, and we’re planning on doing some shopping, getting some pictures in front of the (hopefully not dead) cherry blossoms, dinners at my favorite restaurants, and checking out Eastern Market on Saturday.
