I think this is such a great chilly November day look. I love that everything is minimalist, but the pieces are luxe and quality. I paired my new favorite dark wash denim with a black top that speaks volumes in detail. The front features ruffles and a pink stone necklace that can be detached. I left the necklace on, because in an all-black look, it provided a much needed pop of color.

Of course I am looking for any excuse to slip on my new cashmere cardigan from Theory. I think it’s so important to have a layering piece in your wardrobe that you can pretty much pair with anything. This was such a no brainer topper to the outfit. It pulls everything together with a most sophisticated air.

For shoes I went with my trusty black suede booties, but while I usually tuck my jeans into the boots, this time I styled them over. I don’t know what about it reminds me of a 90’s look, but for some reason I’m picking up that vibe. It makes the outfit just a little bit less traditional. I also am wearing a pair of black leather gloves for warmth. My hands are always the first parts of my body to freeze, and these gloves are so classic, but also stylish with button detailing.

I love that in DC you don’t need to completely bundle up in large puffers for the fall season. Keep the important parts covered, but definitely allow some layering pieces to do the talking!
