New year, new outfits. I hope everyone had an amazing NYE and is ready to start the year fresh and motivated!
Greg and I went to a fabulous party and I will have a post up soon with what I wore and what we did.
But for now let’s focus on this fun take on the t-shirt dress. I picked this cute little number up while shopping with my mom the other week, and have been so excited to style it! It’s a really versatile piece that can be either dressy or casual, which is really key for me, as I like to have my outfits work for a variety of occasions.
The material is velvet (which I’m currently obsessed with!), giving it a bit of visual interest, but after that it’s a blank canvas ready for accessorizing. I love dresses like this actually because it’s an opportunity to make a unique statement. I paired the dress with a red bib necklace and layered bracelets. The pop of red (especially since wearing red signified good fortune in 2017) is so fun, and the sparkly bracelet gives it a glam feel.
I kept the bottom of the look simple and clean with a pair of sheer leggings and wedge booties. Now these are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in a long time. You can’t feel the heel at all! I’ve walked all over the city with these, worked, and I’ve never had to take them off.
This outfit is something that I can wear pretty much anywhere, and I like that it’s not over the top, but still shiny.
I’ll be posting a lot more outfit posts in the coming weeks and also working on creating some content of where to eat, play, and hang out in Washington D.C. Please check out my Instagram for more!
Happy New Year!
