Happy Friday!

I’m a big fan of velvet. And even though it’s not traditionally appropriate for D.C summers, I feel as though this easy t-shirt dress just might make the cut.

The velvet speaks for itself here, so I kept accessories fairly minimal. I’m linking some of my favorite velvet pieces that may transition nicely to warmer weather here (perfect rooftop party dress) and here (the perfect spin on a classic tee). And also a couple of my favorite t-shirt dresses to try this summer here, here, and here. All are fun for work and play.

I styled this dress with my Sam Edelman gold studded sandals. These babies have lasted me for quite some time, and they don’t get old. I think they add just the right touch of interest and glamour to this look, and are also easy to walk in. Sam Edelman in general is one of my favorite brands for shoes, as they carry a lot of designer styles, for much more affordable prices. I won’t go into detail about my extensive Sam Edelman shoe collection, but some of my current favorites are these and these

Hopefully everyone has fun plans for the weekend, let me know in the comments, I love to hear what everyone has going on! Greg and I are headed to Jazz in the Garden tonight with some friends, and are touring apartments for most of Saturday because we’re moving in July. Will of course have more on this soon, but in the meantime I will keep you updated on all my weekend looks via Instagram

Thanks, Siffat!! And agreed, velvet definitely adds that little something extra! I just got these really cute velvet slip ons that make any casual outfit cool. Can’t wait to share!
