There’s nothing more relieving than knowing it’s finally the weekend and being able to throw on a pair of jeans and a soft top. And while comfort is key, comfort never has to come at the expense of style. Which is why I play around with cut, shape, and fit of jeans.
I recently fell in love with these jeans from Agolde. They’re a little trendy, and I wasn’t sure about this trend at first (they reminded me of 90s mom jeans), but after seen a ton of bloggers styling them, I decided to give them a try. And I’m so glad I did!
You can actually wear them tons of different ways, but I want to give you guys a weekend styling idea that easy, chic, effortless, and super functional.
Because these jeans aren’t the most classic fit, for a casual weekend look you want them to stay the main focus of the outfit. For this blog post, I also kept the colors fairly neutral, though you can definitely add a bit of color up top.
I bought this ribbed split-neck top on a whim because I needed a basic long sleeve shirt, and in terms of top purchases it may be my best decision yet. The gray color literally matches everything and it is the softest material. And everything about the fit is super flattering. You can also get it in black, and it would function just as well. I like to tuck it into high-waisted jeans or skirts, but you can also wear it out; the relaxed easy fit that hits at the hip creates an elongated body.
For this post,I tucked it into my Agolde jeans, and kept the accessories fairly minimal. Because the jeans are a straight leg, I wanted a shoe that could seamlessly be slipped on and look good underneath the hem. And these Coach boots, which I’ve been wearing all over town because I think they’re both really cool and work with so many looks, were the perfect addition.
I finished off the outfit with my oversized Gucci sunglasses for a little bit of glamour. And since it’s winter, I also slipped on my go-to puffer coat.
The formula for this look: pair your Agolde (or other 90s inspired straight leg jean) with a basic like a long-sleeve top (preferably tucked in), and a pair of classic (whatever that means for your style) boots, sunglasses, and coats. Let the jeans do the talking. Then proceed to coffee date, brunch with your girlfriends, or whatever is you do on weekends.
A couple other pairs I’m loving right now are these and these. And if you wanted to add a bit of color up top, try this top and this one. My Coach boots are currently on sale, but here is also a similar pair. I live in Washington D.C, the puffer is a must for me during the winter months. Mine is Via Spiga and I don’t think it’s available anymore, but I’m absolutely lusting over this one, and this one is cute at a much more reasonable price point. And I’m totally in love with my Gucci sunglasses, which I got for a total steal off The Outnet (unfortunately no longer available, but fortunately they have tons of cool other ones in stock). Other pairs I’m loving from The Outnet are these and these.
