I think I found an outfit that’s 9-5, but also incredibly cool and stylish. My mom got me this skirt about a year ago and I have worn it almost to death. It’s so comfortable, and I love the way it layers in a zigzag pattern. Though it’s striped, I definitely treat it as a neutral because stripes add a little fun to almost anything. The shirt is also a present from my mom (she is amazing at finding affordable pieces from mid – high end brands), and has layering as well. I didn’t really plan to have that be a theme, but once I tried these pieces on together, it just fit. The necklace is actually attached to the shirt, but can be taken off. I thought that the pink of the necklace matched really well with my pink manicure and added the necessary pop of color to a mostly black and white outfit. I finished off with these gold sandals. I did not expect to like these shoes as much as I do, but I’m just finding that I want to wear them with everything I own. I love adding just a bit of something out of the ordinary to my looks, and this was the perfect finishing touch. The gold color, the fact that they’re kind of mules (which isn’t usually my style), how they have an interesting geometric design, the way the heel is very easy to walk in (I honestly forget they’re heeled sometimes, they’re that comfortable!), I’m just drawn to them. I wore this whole look to work the other week, and think it transitions just perfectly from the office to happy hour. And with this summer humidity, a cold drink after a long day in at work is more than necessary!
