I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, and enjoyed the Super Bowl! Though I don’t care much about football, it was cool that the game took place in my hometown of Minneapolis. We also made the most delicious buffalo chicken dip for the occasion. I can link it or write a post if you guys are interested.
What I wanted to write about today is a cute outfit idea for Valentine’s Day. Hopefully the first of a few blog posts to give you guys tons of different options for a variety of dates, this one is a more casual choice. It would be perfect for a coffee, lunch, or day date.
The babydoll is an often overlooked item of clothing, but it’s too cute not to breakout for Valentine’s Day. This particular dress I have on I’ve had for years. I bought it in a small boutique in New York, and I never expected it to last me this long. I usually wear it on hot summer days with a pair of studded sandals, but I because of the heart print and pink color, I wanted to get creative and incorporate it in the winter too. I’m currently loving, this, this, and this one.
So I decided to layer it over a long sleeve top. While you can easily layer over it any neutral long sleeve, I went for this navy one with crochet detail. It just adds another level of interest. I love this option too. Also, this gray thermal I’ve been raving about would look nice layered underneath.
I styled this look with my new favorite Coach boots (these have such a fun floral print) to keep it simple. Since this is an outfit that works great for the daytime, there’s no need for sky high heels. These and these boots would also look cute.
And accessorize with AU|Rate, a chic and affordable brand I recently discovered. They have some of the coolest pieces for Valentine’s Day, and just launched a new collection.
What did you think of this outfit? What are your plans for Valentine’s Day and what do you plan to wear? Let me know in the comments!
